    Changelog

What's new in Recipe App. Most recent first.

    April 27, 2026 — Public launch

Recipe App is officially live at recipeapp.io. After weeks in private beta, we're opening signups to everyone.

Capture recipes any way you want

Five ingestion modes, all powered by Claude:

    • Manual entry — type it in with a clean editor
    • Paste text — drop a recipe from anywhere, we'll structure it
    • Photo — snap a cookbook page, handwritten card, or finished dish
    • Link — paste any recipe URL or YouTube video; we extract from descriptions and transcripts
    • Voice dictation — talk your recipe in, we'll write it down

    Per-serving macros

Calories, protein, carbs, and fat estimated automatically for every recipe based on your ingredient list. Re-estimate any time.

    Smart organization

    • Full-text search across titles, ingredients, instructions, tags, and source attribution
    • 12 built-in categories (Breakfast, Dinner, Dessert, etc.)
    • Free-form tags for filtering by cuisine, diet, occasion
    • Per-recipe From / Attribution field — track whose recipe it is ("Grandma," Joy of Cooking, a YouTube channel) and click to see all recipes from that source

    Accounts and pricing

    • Free — up to 20 recipes, every feature included
    • Pro — $7/month, unlimited recipes, cancel anytime

    Built for your phone

Recipe App is a Progressive Web App. Add it to your home screen on iPhone (Safari) or Android (Chrome) for a native-feeling app without the App Store hassle.

    Behind the scenes

    • Email + password auth with email verification and password reset
    • Photo storage on Vercel Blob with private unguessable URLs
    • Postgres on Neon for recipe data
    • Claude (Anthropic) for AI parsing and macro estimation
    • Stripe Checkout for billing — your card never touches our servers
    • Resend for transactional emails

    Coming soon

    Roadmap items we're actively planning:

    • TikTok and Instagram Reels ingestion (currently web pages and YouTube only)
    • Shared collections for households or families
    • Meal planning — drag recipes onto a weekly calendar
    • Shopping list generation from selected recipes
    • Recipe export as JSON, PDF, or printable cards
    • Custom domains for power users who want their own recipe site
